Does anyone know a place that I can order 4/4 kiln dried Holly? I don't need much, maybe 1 board 3 to 4 inches wide by 2 feet long. My son makes pens from them so I want to take a board and cut it into pen blanks. He makes the celtic knots with the holly and ebony and so we have to cut strips of holly to fit in the ebony and have holly blanks for the ebony to go in. I would rather use a board instead of just holly pen blanks.
Here is a picture of the pens he makes. He is 14 years old and has been turning for about 2 years.

Glimer Wood, www.gilmerwood.com, has some listed on their website. Never done business with them, but have seen their name mentioned a bunch of times on the forums.

Start 'em young! Good for you AND him. Sorry, no idea where to get the Holy in your area, though.

I tried Gilmer woods but they have a $100 minimum order. They had some very nice pieces of Holly but at this time I don't need $100 worth of wood.

Maybe it's just the pic, but it looks like you have inlaid mother of pearl in that ebony pen...

The Wood Yard, com has several hunder feet -- $7.00 a board foot -- I just bought some. His web sit don't reflect it yet, but he has it, send him an email or give hime a call. http://www.thewoodyard.com/pages/display/Contact%20Us His name is Rich, a good man to do business with.

Thanks guys. I'll give them a try.
It is just the picture. It is Holly inlayed in the Ebony pen. Mother of Pearl would be great. William hasn't tried that but maybe we'll see if we can find some to inlay.
