These are out of Black Locust (scrap from my deck re-build). Much harder than the curly maple I usually make them. Almost doubled the time it takes to make them. Sanded to 220, no finish. For a family member to give as gifts to her friends. Each year her order goes up. Apparently they're popular.

Sorry for the point-and-shoot-on-the-carpet pic. Had to deliver them today.

Scott, those are sure different. Did you turn them on multiple centers? How long are they

Yep, a quick how-to on these (if you can give away trade secrets) would be very interesting.

Very interesting look. You couldn't have picked a much tougher dry wood to work with.

These are really interesting, Scott, and I imagine you could have turned cast iron just as easily!!!

Nice work Scott - I can see why they would be in such demand! Really like your original style of handle!!

Very cool... I love the eccentric handles... spatulae ( :) ) were one of the first things I did when I got my Jet mini years ago and I'm still doing them to this day... favorite woods for them are honey or black locust. Not because of how easy it is to work with ('cause it ain't), but because it last forever and stays looking good. My wife has one of the original ones I made about 8 years ago and with a light sanding and touchup with mineral oil, it still looks great.

These are very unique. I've never seen treenware turned on several axis...

They look a bit like something you'd see on Halloween... I can imagine minature witches riding them around...
