Steve Walker left me with some really nice looking wood when he passed through Oklahoma a few months ago. These three forms came from a lumpy little maple log that was among the goodies... Thanks, Steve!

They are 11.5, 9.5 and 7.5 inches tall and roughly 5 inches in diameter. I turned them to completion, applied a coat of Deft brushing lacquer, and threw them in a bag of shavings after the photo was taken.

Comments, criticism, and suggestions always appreciated!

Boy that is one nice looking trio. The form is exceptional. The wood is beautiful. I don't think the three amigos should ever be separated.

Keller, this is just an excellent assembly of forms!! Great work, and they sure show well, too. Some nice looking wood - just enough going on with it to give it character without being over the top. SWEET!!

What a beautiful form, so simple looking, but anything but when trying to create it.

Very very nice. I, also, would try to keep them as a set.

What a nice idea to use all three pieces for complimentary forms. I never thought to throw a coat of finish on a hollow form prior to bagging it. Thanks for the thought. Your trio is a star.

Those look very very nice David! I really like them as a group also and would keep them as a set. The forms are great too, very clean lines. Can't wait to see them with final finishing done.

I like these very much. And I agree with everyone who has suggested that they be eternally bound together.

Keller, these are nice forms and in my opinion are oriented in the proper manner. They are opposite of the up side down counterparts that are so popular with woodturners not necessarily the buying public.

Great idea to make a trio David. Makes for a great display and picture. The wood and the forms are very attractive. I have been turning some vases lately in hopes of using some dye but they are all random woods and shapes. I need to follow your example with the next few!

I like them, especially all together. I like the orientation of their form, they are pleasing to my eye. I just want to know... what did you do with the voids and inclusions? :D

beautiful trio . Each one can stand on it's own, but I think as a 3 pc. set, they compliment each other very well. pretty & simple lines & subtle gorgeous wood. Can't do better than this.

Very nice David!!!! I love the trio. I showed my wife the pictures, and she asked why I never make her anything like that?? My reply; "because he knows what hes doing and I dont.;)"

This is a great looking trio, David. The size variances are perfect, the wood gorgeous, it doesn't get any better than this. Congrats on the WOW cover, very well deserved.

David, love the elegant simplicity of these organic forms. The unique and well done shape make for a spectacular collection. (Look a lot like a urinary bladder I saw last week - hmmmmmmmm - have you been moonlighting with alternate species?).
