I just delivered that lamp table I posted a couple days ago and guess what?, she put a doily on the table!!! So much for great grain, nice finish and a lot of work. Ah hem.. Coulda used 2/4s instead.

LOL.... my wife would do that. Some people just don't see things the way we do. My wife did that to a hutch I made. Only plus is that it has helped keep it very pristine!

Well, there's no accounting for taste. But, then -- the customer is always the customer -- just not always right! :)

I understand what you're saying, but she might be soooooooooooooooo proud of your work that she doesn't want to damage the finish.

That's what doilies are for.

So say me old Gran- manny years ago!

Something like those people who leave the plastic on their lamp shades...or have those plastic covers on their furniture that sticks to your legs when you'r wearing shorts. Oh GEEZ those are my relatives I'm talking about!!!

My uncle still has the plastic on his truck seats! Annoys the crap out of me! Anyways, I am sure the table still looks great and the doiley will help it stay that way for many years! :)

One man's meat is another man's poison...I understand how you feel. We all march to different drummers.
