Starting to turn the Christmas items! Texas mesquite potpourri bowl, 6" wide x 2.5" tall, Danish oil and buffed.

I found that the easiest way (for me!) to turn these fast is to use a screw chuck to rough out the shape and turn a small recess on the bottom. Use the small jaws on a chuck to expand into the bottom, finish turn the outside, Monster out the inside, flip the piece around, and very lightly expand the chuck into the top opening and finish off the bottom.

Thanks for looking!

Robert, sounds like you have the "production" aspect of these down pat! Nice work, and beautiful color.

That is a sweet looking piece. The color and finish are beautiful. Reminds me of a couple similar roughouts I have drying that I wanted to make for Christmas gifts. My wood is not even close to being in the same ballpark!
