I can't post to the classified section and I wanted to let all know that I purchased a #6 smooth sole from Ron and it showed up today.
Nice plane. Really like it a lot. It came sharpened and ready to run after some assembly.
Makes nice thin shaving. Sole looks to be nice and flat. Looks to be one of the best older planes in my collection.

Packaged very well. Had to use my GI Joe Jungle knife to get it opened.

I'm a bit confused. A #6 from Ron Bease? ... another Ron?

Sure you can post in the classified section. It only cost a measly $6 a year. Think about all the fun you have on this forum. All the knowledge strangers share with you. All the tips and skills you learn here. enough said. Enjoy your # 6. I like mine.

I think he means Ron Bontz - I purchased his 6C type 13 and his #8C. Both came so well packaged, they could have pitched it from the street and it wouldn't have phased it. Both exceeded my expectations - I simply rehoned an already sharp iron and both give between .001 and .002 and there isn't any expectations of that for those sized planes - especially with stock irons. My only regret is that I didn't jump on the #5 that he had for sale. I have used the #8 on two small projects and don't know how I ever got by without one. Both will eventually get Lee Valley blades and chipbreakers, but they are running fine as they are, so I can wait for free shipping.

Well my plane looks a lot like Don's. Forgive me guys. I just want to let you know Ron Bontz sold me a nice plane. I know about the picture think and I am sorry....sigh... point made and it will not happen again.

I guess I found out why I can't post to the classified section. Donation coming up.
