This is a bowl made from bird pecked pecan. It is 9.25 in wide X 3.25 in high, dried with Dave Smith's alcohol method, tung oil solution finish, then buffed. I was given the wood from a tree blown down by hurricane Frances. I have a strong suspicion the bird was a woodpecker.

Very nice, Glenn. Beautiful material and execution. Can you post another pic from a lower angle so we can see the form. I think that's important, especially for some of the newer turners to see.

Funny I know some hen-pecked woodturners. Nice work on the bowl as usual Glenn.

I like the shape and the wood. Finish looks good too. I sure need a crash course in finishing. Of course a little patience would help. From the work I have seen of yours patience is not a problem for you.

I appreciate your kind remarks. I thought your might like to see what kind of character mother nature can help us by putting such stuff in the wood.
