An idiot goes to the post office

Hi, my name is Andy, and I am an idiot..... I really wanted to go to the post office and have them hand stamp a letter, post card, or just a piece of paper with a stamp on it with today's date "11/11/11". So, I went to the post office. And then I realized that the post office in the USA is closed today because it is a national holiday (not that I have a day off). If I had thought ahead, I would have asked friends in other countries to do this for me, but, I failed to do so.

While I didn't waste the gas to drive to the post office,,,,I did walk out to the mailbox twice before I realized there wasn't going to be any mail.
