I saw a video today demonstrating attaching a drawer slab to the drawer box with glue. Wouldn't that prevent wood movement? What is the best way to attach a solid wood slab to a drawer box? I only have a 3mm gap for the cherry slabs to move in both directions. Is that enough?

From your description I believe we are talking about false fronts being attached to drawer boxes(?) If there are pulls with through-hardware I rely on the hardware supplemented by a couple of screws from the backside of the front of the box into the false front. If there is no through-hardware, I still use screws but will put a line of glue along the centerline, with the gain. This allows movement away from center in each direction for solid wood false front drawers. Just my .02. Many other opinions will follow.
