These can be a little addictive! I posted the larger (eucalyptus) box last week, then on Saturday I turned the two smaller boxes from a piece of dry mesquite. The medium sized one is 1 3/4" x 1 3/4" and the smallest is 1 1/4" x 1 3/4". They both have just a light coat of BLO and a coat of sanding sealer, snap fit lids on all three.
These are fun and easy to turn and I think I'll be going back to the pile of old dry mesquite to turn more of these in various sizes!

Now those are some nice little boxes!

I'm the type of guy that at Christmas, I'll give my girlfriend some jewelry and put it inside ten layers of difference sized boxes...I might have to replace my cardboard with some nice chunks of wood this year.

Hi Kathy,

Nicely done! Boxes like these are so very useful. I think there is a nice market for boxes like these.

Kathy, those are some nice boxes. You should make a small tutorial of pictures of the process. Would love to see it.

You're right about the addictive part! These are great little boxes, and I look forward to seeing future versions. I've done a few in this miniature style, and they're great for practicing inserts and texturing. I've got one someplace that I inset the lid with chattered ebony after watching a Clewes video where he does the same. I've given a few of these away to folks as 'ring boxes'. Vince is right... I'll bet there's a market for these. As always, I love seeing your work!

Nice work on the boxes, Kathy!! I like the idea of a nested set, as well. Lots of possibilities here.

That's a great looking set of boxes. What are you using to hollow the insides?

Nice work and good use of smaller pieces of wood.

I've got a chunk of Siberian elm that is pretty dry and not big enough for a big project. I may go try doing this today.

Nice work Kathy. They are addictive. I got into making small boxes and over a couple evenings churned out a dozen of them! Real fun.

Nice job Kathy! They are all pretty and useful. I think a nested set would be a cool idea... though I suppose it wouldn't be good for much!
