I have an entertainment center that I want to refurbish and sell. The door flipper hinges are broken (attach to sliders that allow doors to hide inside of cabinet). I found some on Rockler, but they turned out to be wrong for the application. I need 40mm sockets, and the hinge would be of the "face frame" type. The hinge actually "wraps" around the thickness of the door (~1"). See the photo below. The one on the left os the Rockler (Blum) version. The one on the right is what was in the cabinet. Note the "L" shape of the hinge attachtment bracket. Does anybody have a line on these?

On this web page, http://www.cabinetparts.com/f/hinges/, the second one from the left looks like it, but I cannot find it, and it has to be a 40mm socket.

Ok, so how about this. Any cabinet makers here know of great websites good for hinge info?Mike

Check out Hafele. They have an extensive selection of euro hinges. You'll just have to sift through tons, and tons of selection. Also, at the Blum website you can download their brochure for their hinges--it has all the relevant info pertaining to cup size, bore distance, etc., etc.

www.wwhardware.com is my usual source for hardware including hinges. http://www.hardwaresource.com/ is another resource for hinges. You may be in a bind. The common cup hinges are 35 mm. I've only seen 40 mm holes on hinges that are part of a whole flipper-door system. You might have to buy a whole mechanism to get the hinges.

40 mm, full-crank. Dunno if the crank distance is enough for your application.

Try Woodcraft. I know they have the system with the 40mm hinges, but I don't know if they're available seperately.

Thanks all. Jamie, that looks just like what I need. What does "full crank" mean? I see that and other versions a lot.

The crank just refers to the offset on the hinge. Do you see the angled part between the hinge cup and the arm of the hinge? See how it's bent at an angle? That's where the 'crank' is. What you have is a full crank. They come in straight arm, half-crank, and full-crank. The different crank hinges are used with different mounting plates for specific applications.
