Here's that last of the ornaments I'm turning for this year. Any single one was a lot of fun to turn, but after a dozen of anything I start to get sick of them. Hopefully all the ornaments sell well.

First tow have Black Ash Burl globes and Blackwood finials.. The end one is the same burl that I dyed yellow, not sure how if I'll dye anymore in the future. Final on the end one is apple. Comments and critiques are welcome.

Paul, you ornaments are beautiful. But, just a dozen? You're just getting started. You have to turn them until at least Thanksgiving!;)

Looks good Paul. Practice makes perfect.... but I can see why you need a change. I haven't done more than 2 or 3 of anything in a row.

I like the last one the best. The curve looks to be the most consistent and even from top to bottom on the main bulb. Plus I like that bit of ripple and yellow in it! Looking good!

Thank you everyone. If these sell well enough at the show next weekend I'll have to make some more to keep the local stores in stock. I might whine a little less if they are selling. Now its off to bottle stoppers. I have a grand total of 1 on hand for my show and those generally sell well this time of year.

Those are very nice. I've gotta get around to trying one. Are they hard to hollow, and what tool do you use? If I don't have it I will get it.

I find them easy hollow. I drill a 5/8" hole part way through, then all the way through with a 3/8" bit. I made this hollowing tool from 1/4" drill rod. A 3/16" hole was drilled in the end and a cutter bit super glued in. I use a piece of bent up coat hanger to measure the wall thickness.
