David DeCristoforo's urns on a stick and a gentleman on another board named Robert Bishop inspired me to try an urn. This is some of the mesquite gifted to me by Alan Trout. I need to make the stand yet, but thought I'd throw it up for your thoughts. The form is 10" tall and about 4.5" in diameter. It's heavier than wanted it to be as I didn't visualize the base well. The form is sanded dry to 400, then BLO sanded with 400 wet/dry and now has it's first of many coats of Formby's Tung Oil. Thanks for looking.

I really like it! By far my favorite form, careful once you make one of those things it will haunt you. Just saying :)

Nate,

that is a great form. That turned out to be a really pretty piece of mesquite. You really did it justice.

What's a Grecian Urn?

Oh, about 5 Drachmas an hour.

Scary, I was thinking the same thing!

I like that form, fair curves, and the shoulder and top look good.

Nate that is really nice. I enjoyed meeting with you at the symposium and hope we get a chance to meet again for a bit longer though.

I like the size! Mesquite usually always ends up heavy...super dense stuff. What ideas do you have for a mount?

Beautiful wood and a nice shape. Looks good as is but I am looking forward to seeing it "hung"!
