I just bought a 1987 delta 17-900 drill press. It has a fair amount of surface rust that will take some elbow grease to remove but it should be shining in no time. I removed one of the handles and grip (the handle knob) to do a quick cleaning last night and I was pleasantly surprised to see the grip was a brass ball that shined up like gold! It was nice to see a non-synthetic handle. Was that original equipment in 1987 or did the previous owner modify it? Anyway, love the new (to me) DP and can't wait to start using it after a good clean up.
