This is going to sound really stupid, but anyhow ...

Since the weather is getting warmer (hopefully), I want to devote more time to the shop and doing some work for the g-daughter. Up until now, I've been doing "shop" tasks, Table Saw table, Router Table, etc. using Borg plywood and oak.

However, now I want to get some nicer wood stock and better plywoods to make better stuff.

Is anyone out there from the New York City area, and do you know of any lumber suppliers (who can deliver) selling nice, varietal, cabinet grade woods?

TIA.

Steve,

I used to live out on LI, in the area of Sayville. I cannot remember the name of the places BUT, I had two great wood suppliers. As I recall they were located between the villages of Oakdale and Babylon, and both were very close to Sunrise Hwy. I'm sorry I can't give you their addresses :(

I can help you. There are only two hardwood supplies on Long Island.
1) Woodply, in Freeport. Plywood, hardwood, exotics, over 80 species in stock. www.woodply.com
2) J&A Lumber Co., 2050 Fifth Ave. Ronkonkoma. Hardwood with some exotics. 631 585 5057

Thanks. I think I'll make a trip next week to look at what they have.
