My G0453 gearbox oil leaks have reached a point of needing a fix. It came out of the box with two leaks, one around the sprocket shaft seal and the other around the gasket that "seals" the gear box housing. They were both minor leaks originally but over the last few years the shaft seal has gotten worse and I am growing tired of the puddle of oil on my shop floor.

My questions to those of you that have attempted this leaking G0453 gearbox repair:
How do you get the oil seal off the sprocket shaft?
Did you need any other parts besides the sprocket shaft oil seal and the gearbox gasket?

I have not taken this apart yet and am looking for your experiences so that I am better prepared to try this.

Thank you.

I have the same problem with my g0454z, i tightened the screws around the oil tank (i found that they were a little loose). I refilled the oil but it does still leak, just not as bad. i emailed grizzly about it awhile ago, but never heard back.

Go to gm dealer and buy a tube of anaerobic sealer. Reseal with new gaskets and sealer.Don
