Check out the deep turnings of Anatoly Tsiris.

I'm interested in the fact that the lathe he's using is a John Nichols Custom lathe. I turned for several years on a Nichols bowl lathe. He made it for me with a left handed spindle thread. (I'm a lefty) It had a swing of 26 inches, but not nearly as long a bed as this one has. I turned some big stuff on it but not even close to what we're seeing here. I seldom go bigger than 12 inches any more even though my Oneway will swing 24 inches.

Wow, that is an awesome-big lathe.

I can't help but to imagine though how bad it would be for that blank to break free and come off the lathe! Eeeeek!

His hollowing rig makes the so called "monster" rigs look like pansy little kids toys!
