What are some recommendations for a french fry cutter that will cut thin fries. This is for home use. I'll scrub the potatoes with a brush , but I don't plan to peel them.

I'd prefer a machine that was easy to clean.

Another food thread!

I prefer to cut my fries and hash browns by hand using a knife.
A small paring knife is usually my "go to" for tater fixen.

Any machine I've tried has been too messy.

My parents and I ran a concession stand every summer where we made home cut fries. This style of cutter (http://www.amazon.com/Winco-French-Fry-Cutter-Cut/dp/B000UAKCFS) is by far the best option. Mount it vertically onto a 2x6 and stick a bucket underneath to catch the fries. Using this we could cut 20lbs in just a few minutes. We'd typically go through 100lbs of potatoes a day so figure 30days/mo * 4mo/yr * 10 years *& 100lbs of use and we never had any problems. You can get different cutter spacings to determine the size of your fries.

There are a few that apply that advice to wood too. For me, it's going to be Greg's suggestion. I like the idea of mounting the machine vertically. I'll try Amazon.

Harbor Freight's newspaper ad says they have a similar looking fry cutting machine. I didn't think I would buy it, but I wanted to see one, out of curiosity. The local store was out of stock.
