I purchased this piece of Claro Walnut burl at SWAT and roughed it out not long after. Usually I do HFs to finish thickness while wet but this wood is special (and expensive). It is 7" diameter X 3-1/2" tall. The thickness varies from 1/8" at the opening to ~3/16" near the bottom. There are a few small voids in the lower half. Finish is WOP (just a couple of coats and buffed). There is no foot, I put it on a short piece of PVC for a picture (to raise it out of the shadows).
Comments and Critiques welcome.

Dennis, Charlie is right - I love Claro walnut!!! And, you did a great job with this piece. Claro is a dream to turn, and it nearly always has wonderful grain and coloration - at least, the stuff I get seems to. Great piece!

Wild grain Dennis. Your flattened form looks like it was the perfect choice for it. Well done!
