It's a pretty piece, but I'm gonna have to know a bit more about the name you chose... BM?

Named after Bert Mercier. He planted the tree in front of our office several years ago. He was the CEO. The business is now ran by his son and grandson.

That clears things up! In my line of work, BM has another potential interpretation... I knew my version didn't fit with such a nice looking piece.

Ditto! And I too am glad to have an explanation of the name!

I agree it is a wonderful piece but I also agree with the name BM as David suggest has an alternate meaning and the thread may get censored like the "Wood Turners Finish" thread did. They don't take to kindly to initials with possible different meanings over here.

Great work

Alan

Alan, you're joking, right? BM could signify virtually anything -- a place, someone's initials, a number. My first reaction was that it signified the guitar chord, B-minor. Even if Joe intentionally referenced what you're implying, he must have done that for a purpose, and that's within an artist's prerogative. We're creative people. Every time we chuck up a blank and begin to spin it against a sharp tool, we're pushing the limits of awareness and creativity. That's the nature of art.
