How much to charge for a laser cut job?

Hello everyone,

I am preparing to start my business offering laser cut products designed by me. I just got an inquiry for laser cutting 700 acrylic parts that is approximately 2.5" x 3". It is a fairly simply design. Basically a rectangle with a square hole cut out in center.

I have no idea how to charge. Can i get some advice on how to set my pricing?

5-7x material cost - the cost of material for this job , assuming it's 1/8" stuff is about $3 per sq ft , your part is about 15-20c worth of material , I suggest a price of $1.50 maximum.

I pay $2.34 sq ft for 1/8" clear extruded with shipping. I would sell these for somewhere between .75 to $1.00 each. Power to you if you can get $1.50 but you might also lose the order with that price. That would be plus outbound shipping.
