Happy Halloween

This is my first attempt at making a pumpkin. I used a green maple log that had quite a bit of color, hollowed it out and used thinned pumpkin colored acrylic paint. The paint allowed the color of the wood to show through. I have one of those battery powered candles in it. I used my recently acquired Ryobi carver for the top and the texturing of the surface. Next time I need to make the walls much thinner

The finial could be a little thinner, but overall It is a really neat piece. Ranks right up there with Cindy Drozda's salad bowl piece.
