For those who own the Grizzly G0555P or Go555. Can you do me a favor and measure from the left slot(where it begins) to the adjustment cap screw.
All this time I have been doing the wrong way.

thanks

I found out that measuring the cap screw is not accurate way.

On grizzly manual says have at least 3/4" deflection on V-belt.. I think they made a typo, instead should be 1/4".

Can anyone measure your v- belt?. Use thumb with moderate pressure in middle of v-belt.

Sorry for causing problems.

Sorry, can't help you with the measurement, just my experience. I'm running a GO555 with the riser block installed. Had some trouble resawing larger pieces: belt slippage. Tried to adjust and tighten, but didn't help.

So, I installed a Power Twist V-Link belt. Sized it approximately where it needed to be and tightened it- TIGHT. No problems since. That motor will turn that blade through almost anything, as long as I don't let the material pinch the blade.

As I'm replacing other belts now, I'm definitely considering the Power Twist's 1st.

How were you able to install the power twist where grizzly wheels use v-grooves?

Steven-

I've moved and reassembled my G0555 a couple times now. I've never been scientific about the tension. If it slips I tighten it a little more. As long as I'm using my hands/arms to adjust the motor, it's been hard to OVERtighten the belt on this.

I have noticed that I get significantly less slippage on thicker stock if I run the saw on its slower pulley speed of 1750. That speed works well for me on everything that I cut; I'm not sure why it ever needed to be faster.

I'm still running the original belt supplied with the saw.

Now, if you figure out how to improve the bearings on this saw, please tell me. They've been a - er - 'bear' - for me to keep working well.

Im using the blade that came with the saw. 3/8”

Wondering does yours do this?

I (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3DODsQ4U-eA) think I improved it with less vibration than before.

Im going try putting timber wolf on and see if it does the same thing.
You can get more stiffer guides from Carter, but I dont know if the adjustment are bad as Grizzly.

I dunno. This is like the one I bought and installed: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000M67TII/ref=pd_lpo_k2_dp_sr_2?pf_rd_p=486539851&pf_rd_s=lpo-top-stripe-1&pf_rd_t=201&pf_rd_i=B001BQDS8I&pf_rd_m=ATVPDKIKX0DER&pf_rd_r=0WRNM3W3GCTG9DTEX2AA

It says "V Belt" in the description, so I installed it. Can try to get a picture if you would like to see.....?

I may be wrong but isn't that belt on inside-out? My experience is that you should be able to see the little black marks to indicate the direction of travel. Your pic looks like they might be on the inside?

Yikes! I don't know. I've been working under the adage of: "If it ain't broke, don't fix it." This will require some further investigation. Thanks for your insight.

Hi Steven...I'm looking at buying the same saw you have while they are on sale. I have a larger BS fo re sawing but need a smaller one for small stuff. Are you happy with the saw so far?

Thanks..JJ
