Guys, please let me remind you that profanity, and even implied profanity is not permitted on SMC. There is an previously compiled and extensive list of acronyms here (http://www.sawmillcreek.org/showthread.php?17995-List-Of-Acronyms-Update-3-15-05&). This present thread already contains comments that will be edited, and is quickly heading off topic. Please confine this to "true" acronyms that might be of help to folks using the creek.

Thanks.

Very few of these are acronyms, most are actually intialisms.

Hi Mark...........at the top of this page it lists as "turners forum" while that includes acrylics and other mediums that are turned it is primarily a turners forum and related items, such as tools, studios, techniques, etc...........while the mods certainly do allow liberties from time to time because they are such nice referees........they do have to kind of keep the game in between the lines, for the good of all who play on this field.

Nice to have you post........;)

HF = not only Hollow Form, but also Harbor Freight, which was very confusing to me at first. People don't brag about turning Harbor Freight or complain about the quality of Hollow Forms (at least as a general rule).

All in fun. Heck, I didn't know that there was a complete serious list of these!

Russell, I think we are all OK with some fun, but these type of threads can get out of hand pretty quickly - and, it was drifting far enough to be moved to Off Topic. My main concern was largely trying to keep it within bounds from a language perspective. If it drifted too far off topic, it would have just been moved - no big deal there.

Thanks everyone, for keeping it clean.
