I have a Mini Max T124 Lathe. It has a 1 horse single phase 115 volt motor. The electrical plug is missing and the wires coming from the switch are green, brown and blue. I have traced the green as the ground but the blue and brown go into the motor and I am trying to determine which would go to the hot (gold) side of the plug and which would go to the negative(silver) side. Would it matter if they were reversed? I have a 50% chance of getting it right but by Murphy's law a 100% chance of getting it wrong.:D

Any help greatly appreciated.

Mark

Hot (brown) to brass.
Neutral (blue) to silver.
Ground (green) to ... ground :)

Hi, you are correct that green or green/yellow stripe is ground.

Brown is line, blue is neutral...............Rod.

P.S. Brown to gold screw, blue to nickel screw.
