I've sprayed all of my shop drawers with multiple coats of Poly. I love the finish but it's not durable enough to withstand the abuse shop stuff dishes out. I've been using the black rubber like floor runner from the local hardware store for my shop drawer liners. This material is close to the type of stuff you see in the nicer tool boxes but it's extremely difficult to cut square because the edges aren't square and it isn't what I would consider cheap (like $2.50 per foot - 32" wide). I also an not a fan of how the edges want to wrinkle along the edges.

Here's how the turn out now. Obviously the picture makes the liner look nearly perfect from a distance.

Is anyone else using something to protect the bottom of their drawers and what are you using?

Edit: I wanted to move this to the workshop forum but can't figure out how to delete or move a thread. Sorry.

I used this drawer liner in my drawers and on top of my downdraft table. It lays flat without any edge curl.

I've seen those at Lowes but wasn't sure if they'd retain moisture or not. I've read on other forums that using some liners will cause your tools to rust if they do. I'll take a second look the next time I'm there.
