Not sure if this wouldn't be better somewhere else, except I see a lot of boxes posted here.
Is there a general rule for box sizes as far as height, width, and length ratios?

Tom,
There is a "golden rectangle" formula that gives "eye appeal".

David M. Freedman lists the following box proportions in one of his books:
1.) Double Cube. 1 to 1 to 2. (height/depth/width).
2.) Root-of two box. 1 to 1 to square root of 2. (h/d/w).
3.) 1:2:3 box. (h/d/w)
4.) Golden Triangle. .062 to 1 to 1.62 (h/d/w).

I use a variation of Bill's # 4:
Front to Side - Golden Ratio
Side to Height 2:1
Approximately. :D
