I just started into turning last December and got my wife interested in trying my new Monster hollowing rig. That thing is a blast. Anyway this is her first and my second hollow form. I am working on the photography part so open to comments on that and each piece. Maybe a little poll would be fun. Both finished the same Beall buff and ren wax.

Don, you guys sure started with some nice wood! I like both of them, and looks like you have some strong competition! I am thinking another lathe and Monster rig might be in your future.

Don, those pieces look great. I think that hollowing jig is working out. Spalted Maple is some beautiful wood to turn if you catch it at the right stage and I think you hit this one just right.

Looks like you and your wife are off to a great start with hollowing. Photography is a whole different learning curve. Just my opinion but I find the white rimmed background to detract from the turnings.

Those are nice HF's. Looks like you both have the hang of a nice hollowing rig.

Nice job with some very pretty wood. Better be careful about getting her too hooked! Unless you just want to take pictures.
