Is Charlie Horse a turning? Well, 12 spindles and 2 handles says it is. I made him for my first ever Great Grandson. We delivered Charlie Horse to him in Portland last summer. In the photo he's 5 months old (yes. big for his age). What great fun! We'll see the little cowboy again at Christmas time. By then he should have Charlie Horse galloping!

Charlie Horse is made of maple. I thought about staining him but decided to go natural. Several coats of WOP. My wife made a back cushion for him.

Wally, I've seen some great art here on SMC, but none better than that boy. I see a future woodturner in those eyes.

Now that is just wonderful Wally. I would love to have the pattern but I'm guessing the pattern came out of your head!

Looks like the makings of a family heirloom. Hope it sees many generations of use.

so good to see turnings for a useful item. Great toy, and it looks like the little fella is pleased with it. Can't beat that!
