I was not thinking good today and locked my spindle with the index pin and for got and later turned on the lathe it did not turn and thought the breaker was blown. and got side tracked and started smelling rubber to late the belt was wasted .:( Cann't find one most places dont list the 46-460 parts yet and delta site are back orderd. Wife won't let me buy another lathe. A'm in with draws. HELP The belt is a 300j-fg and is marked 4408 on it.

Dahl, That is a whole lot better than getting sidetracked after putting you key in the chuck and THEN turning the lathe on:eek::eek:. Stiff upper lip. You will get it resolved.

What about a 'link belt' ?
Example:
http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=6040
(http://www.rockler.com/product.cfm?page=6040)
That was just a quick search, says its for "table saws, drill presses and other power tools" - if it will fit in your pullies groove, i personally dont see why it would not work (note: never had the need to try - thats just an assumption).

[edit]
the lathes motor RMP might be something to consider

The 46-460 uses a multi-groove belt, kind of like the serpentine belt on a car. A link belt will not work in this case.

See if you have an industrial belt supplier in your area. If not here's a couple of places I found from a google search that may be able to cross-reference your belt.
http://www.beltsforanything.com/site59.php or http://www.upcbelt.com/p_RibbedBelts.htm

The 300j part should be describing the length and groove size. Not sure what the fg describes, maybe the number of grooves?

Good luck.

The serpentine belt on my 46-460 look about like the ones I buy from NAPA for the alternator test bench at work.
I think it's for a Hyundi, just walk it in there and have em' match it up.Good luck.

This is the place I bought the ones from for my Nova. They should have any size your need by three or four different manufacturers.

The first digits are the length the the J is the microgroove and the last number is the number of ribs.
Just do a seach on the site for you belt number.

Well I contacted a industrial supply company and it seams that the belt off my delta the no's are printed on the belt are delta'a no and there is no cross ref. The company is going to call there belt supplyer and try to mach Dim. to get me going . Delta said they were backorderd and could be the first of the year before they could ship. I guess when I screw up I do it right.
