I finished this maple vase last week from the last piece of my 3D maple chunk. The 3D grain doesn't show up quite as well in this form as it did in the spherical shape, but still turned out nice. I have sold several vases in this shape so I guess that it is one that I will stay with. It is 12" tall finished with many coats of lacquer.

Jack, I recall the 3D spheres very well!! This piece is lovely, and does show some of the effect - mostly in the outer areas. Great form - beautiful, flowing curves. I love the ogee curve, and you have a real eye for those.

Jack that is a really nice piece. I do like the form and flowing shape.

Thanks for the compliments. This form makes for a useful vase to display dried arrangements.
Thanks Again,
Jack

That is a great classic shape. Make a vase anyone would love to have. Great job and do you provide 3-D glasses with the purchase of the vase?:rolleyes:

Great form, but to keep the curve going...that is some skill sir! I'd put M&M's in there any day!

Pretty shape Jack! I remember your others and thinking I should try one of a similar shape. Since I haven't yet, maybe this will get me going!
