Cocobolo H/F w/Finial

Here's a cocobolo hollowed form with an ebony finial that's 4 1/4" X 12". What a pleasure to turn! Took very little sanding and was just buffed and waxed. Have been away from the lathe for about 6 months and it felt good to get back. Fishing always takes precedence and besides it's just way too hot in Pensacola to turn in a garage that's not a/c'd. The cooler weather is very welcome.

Very nice form and finial. Proportions are good, curves are good. I'll have to say that I'm jealous. After turning cocobolo for years I developed an allergy to it and had quit turning it. I think that cocobolo is one of the beauty woods of the world....Ah well..
