I'd like to get an OSS.
I don't need one that often.
I'm not all that happy using a drum sander in my drill press - but - while it gets the job done, I don't want to put any lateral force on the chuck if I can avoid it.
I've been looking at the HF OSS and one at Menards that are in my price range - under $200.
One knock against them is the lack of a decent size and/or cast iron table.
That got me thinking that my router table sits around doing nothing quite a bit.
It's got a nice large flat top & a decent fence & is pretty set as far a DC goes.
It wouldn't take a whole lot to fashion a box stand for an OSS to sit on & some inserts.
Am I missing or overlooking something that would make it a bad idea to try?
