I am making a feature ring for a segmented vessel. The segments are to built from block approx 4" x 6" x 3/4. I need to slice this block into 1/8" slats. Because this block is a glue up. I need to use almost the whole block. The last few cuts will be like cutting 1/8" off of a piece about 1/4" thick. This doesn't sound very safe to me. Any ideas or jigs or other suggestions deeply appreciated.

Glue it to a piece that you run against your fence and cut the strips off to the left of the blade. (Assuming the fence is to the right of the blade.)

Grant has a good idea.

I think I will just use a piece of double sided tape to hold the block steady while cutting. Thanks for replying! I love this place!

I just use the bandsaw for thin stock. I can cut 1/16" stock no problem.

I have used it right from the saw and also cut it a bit thick and cleaned up on the drum sander.
