Here is a trio of mugs I have made over the past couple of days. The first is cherry, the second is walnut with a burned basket weave band and the third is maple with a band of small swirls. I was fortunate to be able to take a one day class last Friday with Molly Winton and learned her burning and carving techniques. The class was sponsored by our turning club and was an enjoyable day. The finish on these three mugs is the new Generals Wood Turners Finish. the stuff is amazing as it dries in minutes. I can get six coats on in about 30-45 minutes which really cuts down on the finishing time. Thanks for looking.

Greg those are beautiful. Looks like the Molly Winton classes paid off as I do like the burning on these. Well done. I agree with you on the finish. Great stuff.

I like the gloss finish over the burn. Gives it a little different effect and I bet it feels nice in the hand!

I always love to see what people do with their travel mugs. These are fantastic and I love the burning you did.

Nice Greg. Where did you get the cup insert?

I wish I could have made it to Tulsa this weekend for a demo with Molly. I REALLY like her work. Unfortunately we (my wife and I) got suckered into bidding a painting job and its taking forever to complete, so the fun is few and far between.
