View Full Version : Another couple of Bell ornaments

Well here are a couple more bells using Curts methods. One is walnut with 4 ply plywood and the other is cherry and redheart. Both finished with 7 coats of GF Woodturners Finish.

Curt the glue joints are a lot better on these two. I jointed both edges of the glue ups before starting the cuts which gave me a nice flat surface on the saw when cutting. Before I had used the tablesaw to cut both edges square. The jointer worked much better. I also set up a stop block on my mitre saw which gave me identical cuts. Much better glue ups and after getting each half glued didn't have to sand much for a tight fit when glueing the halves together. I also think the problem you pointed out with to much glue was spot on. Thanks again for your help.

Thanks. Yep Baxter they are getting faster and picking up a few tricks as I told Curt that is making it faster also.
