I think I need a texturing tool for some midsize to larger pieces. Any suggestions for a good quality tool which delivers a nice and crisp texture to burl? Oh yea, and no experience required.

No one? OK, I got the Sorby tool. Pricey, but it does have a lot of other wheels that allows spirals etc, in addition to texturing. Easy to use? I got it....... For this tool I think you don't have many options. I did look long and hard.

I went with http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/store/Turning_Tools___Special_Purpose_Tools___Wagner_Tex turing_Tool___wagner_texturing?Args=
Only used it twice and it worked well. I have lots of ideas for it...just haven't pulled them out of my head yet.

David I have two of the Wagners that Jim pointed you two and this one. http://www.woodturnerscatalog.com/store/Turning_Tools___Special_Purpose_Tools___Robert_Sor by_Texturing_Tool___sorby_text?Args= It works pretty well and is limited by your imagination. Both have there places but do use the Sorby on bigger projects such as bowls and HF's.

David, The only texturing tool I have is the Elf by Henry Taylor. It is a cool decorating tool but you are kind of limited to 1/4" area for a real uniform texture pattern. You can use it for a large area creating a "knurled" effect, but its not repeatable as far as a perfect pattern.
