We are doing shows this time of year. So this guy walks up and ask if I wanted to buy a Walnut Burl. The answer was Yup and he shows up the next morning with this big walnut burl.
How could I say No.
I plan on turning this whole.

I suspect that line across the middle will reveal 2 distinctly different burl characteristics, and I would probably cut it along that line after closer inspection.

Your signature quote at the bottom of your posts takes on a whole new meaning now. "I may be broke" - you must be referring to your back!

Nice looking burl!!

If a pic is worth a 1000 words------------------ I think we need full motion video of you cranking on that one! You're apt to pop a... um, bearing with that monster!

Steve that's a 4224---------they have 4 oversized bearings just for this job.
Plus I have a complete extra set just in case------------:)

O.K., we've seen the big daddy of burls; we've seen the monster lugging his treasure (joking guys!); We assume there are a few possibilities that it'll be in his will, should he pass away "unexpectedly".... (Touch wood you're o.k. with that Gary), I for one would like to know, if it's not rude, HOW MUCH did the guy ask for it? I can't even guess at what it must be worth!
