I got have a new project and wanted to show off what I have done. Not very handy with the power tools so I am proud of how these coasters came out. Started from a red cedar tree, cut into .5 inch planks, then I planed them down to .25 inches and used a hole saw to cut them out. The easy part was lasering them. They are for my Mother's 90th Birthday.

Unique, eye-catching... nicely done. Makes me wish I had a stack of cedar available... :)

They look good!
If you're planing them down to .25", why not have the laser cut them? 1/4" cedar shouldn't be a problem,
and it is probably faster than the hole saw

Thanks for the comments. I have found that .25 inch anything is slow going on my 30 watt Explorer II. Hole saw is quick enough for me now, if I had to do a lot of them I would find a better way.
