I just finished installing a mantle for the mother of a former student. She had existing armoires and I needed to match the crown of the armoires to the mantle. I have included some build pictures and a profile picture of the mantle. She also wanted to match the moulding of the armoires. Thank goodness for William and Hussey that made the job very easy. I simply drew a profile and had them make a cutter. REALLY easy. The mantle is knotty alder with a custom stain to match the armoires. Then there was a wash coat of lacquer followed with a "dirty wipe" of glaze followed by three coats of pre-cat lacquer.
I also finished a built-in for a friend. I spent some time in Japan and the influence of their architecture will stay with me forever. I call the piece "O_Tori" (honorable gate). 209625209626209627209624
