This is on craiglist for $25. I know nothing about scroll saws, but could have used one a few times. Can't tell much from the photos, but perhaps someone can tell me if it is junk or OK. Thanks. Paul

Craftsman 16". I'm 2nd in line for it. I don't know if its old enough to be decent or made during their age of mediocrity.

Mediocre, if you're looking for a good old one.

Run away. I have one in my garage. I paid $20 for it. It bounces like a jackhammer. I have replaced it with a 1958 Delta 40-444. I can't even get $10 for the Craftsman on CL.

Thanks Myk and Cary. Appreciate the feed back. Sounds like you saved me a few bucks and a load of frustration.

I agree with Cary, cheap scroll saws vibrate like crazy. If you want a decent one for not too much money I would recommend the Porter-Cable scroll saw for $190 at Lowes. However if you want a real scroll saw get the DeWalt 788, I love mine!
