Has anyone used Mixol dye from Woodcraft? If so what are your thoughts on it.

we had a local symposium in ft collins a month or so ago and had a demonstrator in sharing his dying techniques.
attached is a source he uses for some very vivid dyes. they are aniline dyes you mis with water.

From all that I have read, of the dyes, one wants to use metalized aniline dyes in an alcohol base for the best light fast qualities. Beyond that, pigments are more light fast than are dyes. And, from what I have seen, vivid color and light fast don't often go together.

Thanks. I kind of gathered that mixol is a surface treatment and not really a dye. Oh well I only ordered $20 so will give it a try.

Bernie, I'm trying Feiblings leather dye right now. It's oil based, but I really like the way it goes on, no problems with overlap. Not sure about light fastness. It was $4 a bottle I think. Looking forward to your results.

Thanks Nate. I will look into it.
