Hello The Creek
I have not imagined ...
I have long been intrigued by the turnings of Alain Mailland
http://www.mailland.fr/html/menu_en.html
and I've tried (a sort of...)This is the second attempt, the first is still ongoing but it is on the wrong
track
I worked walnut dry, Mailland runs the green roots of strawberry (Arbousier) resulting distortions (such as
Burchard his baskets, he, he did it in Madrone, Arbutus too)
So I cheated, copy and cheat...shame on me
There is still some sanding to do, but it's stressful. I do not want to be got there to break
I understand that I get hardly a correct result and I wonder if I will not hide imperfections with a dye and
texturing
What do you think?

Lionel, I am a fan of his work as well and a fan of your work! This is a nice piece. I like the three tiers very much. The problem with dying this piece would be the agravating process of sanding back. Texturing might be nice but with the delicate nature of this one, I would thiunk twice. Maybe a light sand blasting to texture it. Thanks for sharing.
