bar height

Hi Everyone,
I've been lurking here for awhile. This is a
great forum! I will post a profile soon. In
the mean time, does anyone know what the
"standard" bar height is? It's been awhile since
I bellied up to a bar. I'm thinking 40 to45".

When I built my bar, I "mocked" up the height by laying a 2x8 across saw horses that were built up. I moved the height up and down until it felt comfortable. I think I ended up somewhere around 42-43 inches.
