I love the way Magnolia cuts and this piece has some nice curl. About 15-1/2" front to back.
Comments and Critiques welcome.

That is beautiful Denis and it's NOT on my list. Way too hard for some of us.

Dennis, that hat has some real Wow factor to it...I like it. I've only turned a couple, each with some minor issue derived from me or the wood...but I'm critical of what I do like we all are.
That magnolia is very striking and that piece has great figure to it.
It doesn't look like you used burnishing for the band, is that correct? If possible, you may want to apply a painted narrow black band at top/bottom of band to help define the edge better and give it some 'thickness' appearance.
Beautiful shape and finish, really nice.

Very nice! Now, How exactly do you turn a wooden hat? I've seen Cap'n Eddie on youtube talking about them...

Thats a real nice hat, dennis. Thats something I'll never attempt, far to thin for my hands to cut. Congratulation on a job well done.
