Turned these last night and tonight from some green ash.
The blue bowl is 10 1/2" x 3" from a crotch piece, dyed with royal blue Rit dye, applied fairly heavy then sanded back. The inside has a light coat of BLO and just some sanding sealer on the outside so far.
The red bowl is 5" x 3" dyed with red Rit dye, applied heavier on the beads, sanded back on the sides, a very light coat of BLO on the inside and a coat of sanding sealer so far. I used my smallest Sorby beading tool for the beads and took the advice from another post to rotate the tool from side to side (worked much better). I used my Decorating Elf on the bottom and was surprised at how well it did since the wood is green (on other green wood there was quite a bit of tear out/chipping).
