small piece of apple crotch wood. this one fought me all the way. Lots of tear out and a bit punky. A litte epoxy and some thin CA and I got it finished. about 2 inches tall and 5-1/2 inches dia. about an 1/8 inch thick. finished with shellac and 3 coats of rattle can laquer. I have about 8 more small logs from this tree all about 6 or 7 inches in dia and about 10 inches long. any ideas what else to with some of this? Really dont want to make a bunch of bowls like this one. I dont think it will all be quite as punky as this piece was. Thank You for looking and any C&C welcome

I would say that you won the fight. Nice bowl with a great finish, the wood looks great.

That's beautiful! I'd definitely try a hollow form with some of the leftover wood... I'd try something in the Ellsworth style with the pith left in. I hear apple is prone to cracking, so I'd plan to fill or pyro the cracks to highlight them.
