Very nice John! That mesquite has some great color and I think the base works with it.

I like this"new road"...I feel like I am gazing at the ocean swells..I get a sense of movement..it's very pleasing

John, I really do like this piece. I have made a few tea light holders that look very much like your base. Never would have thought of combining the two of them. Great effect.

The curves of the rim in the second image popped the thought of the ocean...
