I'm a lurker over on WTA. While going through the galleries I found a bowl in a log by Mark Cothren. As I like the rustic and shiny mixed I thought I would give it a shot. While turning it, my ADD kicked in and I wondered what it would look like with a shiny lid and finial.....so here you go. Log is Pecan the lid is Cherry and the finial Holly. Also did a Cherry Toshi plate without the little pedestal. I went too thin on the tips, but was able to keep it pretty uniform. Thanks for looking

I like the sharp contrast between rustic and elegant on the lidded box, but something really grabs me about the plate. It's so simple, yet captivating.
