View Full Version : First NE Walnut bowl from Donny Lawson wood

Thanks to Donny Lawson, I came home yesterday with quite a stash of wood. This is something that Ive wanted to try for a while but didn't have anything to do it with. This is one of the smaller Walnut logs that he gave me. It's about 8" x 3" tall with about a 1/4" - 3/8" wall. Not quite finished but I wanted to share. Please excuse the pictures.....C&C welcome.

That's a beauty Ed, the spalt in the sap wood is really nice.

Ed, it looks like your not wasting any time on turning a nice NE bowl. Looks great. Keep em comming.,you have plenty of wood to work with. Check out my thread for the "Intense spalted bowl". Its the one you worked with when you were here.
